Montenegro and Azerbaijan sign bilateral documents

After an expanded meeting involving presidents Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and Filip Vujanovic of Montenegro the two countries signed bilateral documents.

Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Filip Vujanovic signed “The Declaration on Friendly Relations and Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Montenegro”.

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Luksic signed “The Agreement on International Combined Transportations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Montenegro”.

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Montenegrin Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Igor Luksic signed “The Memorandum of Understanding between the Civil Service Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Department for Human Resources Management of Montenegro”.

Azerbaijan`s Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Montenegrin Minister of Finance Radoe Jugic signed “The Convention on Evasion of Double Taxation in Relation to Profit and Income Taxes and Prevention of Tax Evasion between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of Montenegro”.

President Ilham Aliyev has familiarized himself with projects to be implemented in Montenegro by Azerbaijan.

Podgorica Mayor Miomir Mugosa informed the Head of State that Montenegro-based AzMont Azerbaijan-Montenegro Economic and Cultural Center and Azerbaijan`s diplomatic representation in Montenegro had raised the issue of naming one of the streets in the city “Baku”.
According to Mr. Mugosa, as a result of consultations among the Montenegrin Government, the ministries of Culture, and Foreign Affairs and European Integration, the city parliament and the Office of the Mayor, the parliament of Podgorica decided – on February 12, 2013 – to name one of the central streets in the city “Baku”.


Miomir Mugosa said AzMont Azerbaijan-Montenegro Economic and Cultural Center and Azerbaijan`s diplomatic representation in Montenegro also put forward an initiative to erect a bust to great Azerbaijani poet and playwright Huseyn Javid in Podgorica.
As a result, the Podgorica Mayor told the Azerbaijani leader, the city parliament unanimously voted in favor of the erection of a bust to Huseyn Javid in a park located near the buildings of the Presidential Administration, the Parliament, the Cabinet of Ministers and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.
The 1.6m-height silver bust will stand on a white marble pedestal.

President Ilham Aliyev has viewed a model of a kindergarten which is being built in Bijelo Polje, Montenegro, funded by the government of Azerbaijan.

The Head of State was informed on the course of construction of the facility. The President also viewed a model of a new park to be laid in the city.

Mayor of Bijelo Polje Alexander Zuric presented President Ilham Aliyev with a memorial plaque of the city.
